I've been thinking a lot lately about the way my brain works. Embracing and nurturing my unique creative process, and tuning out the negative voice that tells me I "should" be doing things another way. For bigger, more important projects and decisions, I start with a couple vague fragmented ideas, and I put them into a pot on the back burner of my mind. I just let them sit there and percolate, and later, when I'm ready to take them out and think about them again, my subconscious has worked on them and developed them beyond the more obvious initial idea. I used to think I was procrastinating, and I "shamed" myself for it. Now I realize: I'm not procrastinating, I am INCUBATING!
